Board of Directors

Beatrice Franke

Founder & CEO

After a 20-year academic career in physics, Beatrice shifted her focus to her other passions - community building and snowboarding. In 2022, she founded Shredcatz as a platform for female and non-binary riders to share their progression in Vancouver’s and Whistler’s terrain parks. With a natural talent for bringing people together, she’s grown the community through ride days, mountain skills courses, competitions, film projects, and brand collabs, from British Columbia to Saskatchewan.

Beatrice empowers girls, women, and LGBTQIA+ snowboarders to confidently take up space - on the mountain and in everyday life.

Emma Chamberland

Director of Operations

Emma, originally from Sudbury, Ontario, fell in love with snowboarding as a teen at her local hill, and has never looked back. Now, she calls Sea to Sky home, where you can find her lapping the park, learning how to snowmobile, or exploring the backcountry on her split board. When she is not on snow, you can catch her mountain biking or gravel cycling.

Monika Stachura

Director of Administrative Services

Monika, is a physicist by training who moved to Canada in 2015 and now calls Vancouver home. When she’s not immersed in science and outreach, she’s likely either on the slopes or on a mountain bike (and sharing her living room with three of them - no regrets!).

Passionate about supporting women and non-binary individuals in spaces traditionally dominated by men, Monika brings that commitment both to her professional work and her community life. She gives back by building biking trails, leading inclusive group rides on the North Shore, mentoring newcomers to the sport, and helping others find confidence and belonging on the slopes and on two wheels.

Molly Henneberry

Director of Backcountry & Freeride

Hailing from north of Edmonton, Molly grew up riding the Rockies before moving to the Coast in 2020. Now living in Squamish, Molly found such a deep love for earning her turns that she’s now pursuing her PhD in sport science for backcountry skiing and split boarding.

Her two favourite things about split boarding are seeing others find their stride as they begin their backcountry journeys, and riding lines all over the world, from Chile to Japan to the Yukon.
